Spin Recording Studios is a multi-room, 4000 square foot world class audio recording facility located minutes from Midtown Manhattan at the foot of the 59th street Queensboro bridge in Long Island CIty, Queens.
Studio A features 68 channel SSL 4064 G / G+ console (64 channel frame, 60 mono 4 stereo modules) housed in a comfortable 450 sq. ft. acoustically tuned space featuring Genelec monitoring. A wide collection of vintage and modern outboard equipment, Control A is attached to a 650 sq. ft. live room (divisible into three isolated spaces while maintaining line-of-sight), and is flanked by two smaller isolation booths (line of sight via close circuit video). Our live room features a Yamaha C6 grand piano formally of Bearsville studios as well as a Hammond B3, and Fender Rhodes. As always, there is never an additional fee for using any of our in house instruments, or recording equipment. Our live room is approximately 30' long, by 20' wide, with a 12' ceiling height.
Studio B houses a 52 input Amek Big and a large booth perfect for cutting vocals or doing other small overdubs. Studio B's loft-like feel, wide-open design, and natural sunlight foster a creative atmosphere where work can progress at a professional pace while maintaining a relaxed feel. A combination of boutique audio equipment from A Designs, Psidex Audio Labs, along with a nice selection of vintage equipment make studio B a great place to work.
For a fraction of what you will pay for similarly equipped studios in Manhattan you get access to either of these two great rooms and all of the amenities of the attached lounge and full kitchen - not to mention delivery service from the best restaurants the city has to offer. Most of all, you will be welcomed into the Spin community. Come and experience New York's best kept secret!
